Julia comes from an artist family and is a daughter of the artist Halyna Hamelink-Ihnatenko. Julia works in the same technique as her mother and complements her creative use of colour in a unique way. The relief-like layers of paint seem to simmer as if they were in motion, like a living lava flow.  

Julia works very expressively. Each of her paintings is an emotional discharge on canvas and reflects the emotional state of the artist at the time the piece of art was developed. In order to characterize or depict a feeling, Julia Ihnatenko uses the intense colours, which then flow or explode on canvas to match the state of the mind.
